A Tourist in my Own Hometown: Kenosha's Harbor Market

Hands down my favorite thing to do in my hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin is visit Kenosha's Harbor Market. Harbor market is just like any regular farmer's market - on a mega does of steroids!

Sure the market has available the normal farmer's market locally grown, in-season produce. And it's awesome.

Now let's add in a twist... how about not one, not two, but THREE local musician groups?

Now I have your attention, don't I? But wait, there is more! How about a pizza oven?

Oh, your market doesn't have one?  I know, I am spoiled silly! There are also many local vendors selling their local crafts, baked goods, jewelry, wind chimes, clothing, woodworking, candles, soaps, fresh flowers, lotions - it's endless!

My mom even got me a new necklace for my birthday. Thanks, mom!

And since it IS my birthday weekend. I decided to treat myself to a little chair massage - what your market doesn't have massage therapists?!

Oh... and how about some local honey? I picked some up last weekend. So yummy. It is so local, you can even meet the bees!

There are also so many yummy food options you can eat right there. Bratwurst, hamburgers, pizza, egg rolls, donuts, smoothies, and more - you better just bring an appetite.

Kenosha's Harbor Market is also dog friendly. I mean SUPER DUPER dog friendly. You can't walk 5 steps without wanting to cuddle up to a K-9. All social and well-behaved dogs are welcome at the market. So, mine has to stay home. (Sorry, Parker!) There are even doggie rules. I sure hope those dogs are reading them!

There are also several vendors your four legged child can shop at. They can purchase treats from doggie bakeries, new water bowls, leashes, and more. I just can't quite figure out where these pooches keep their wallets!

Some vendors are there weekly while others rotate weekends, so you never know what you are going to find at the market!

Are you ready to come up for a visit? Kenosha's Outdoor Harbor Market takes place every Saturday in the Summer months from 9am - 1pm. It is located on 2nd avenue between 54th and 56th street. For more details, visit Kenosha's Harbor Market online!

  2. The options of food at your market looks so much better than ours. I took our family last summer to our local farmers market and they had tons of craft booths but not much food. Not even a lot of veggies. I felt like it should have been advertised as a craft fair. :-)

  6. I love, love, love your market! My daughter's farmer's market is more like yours. Ours is small, with quiet farmers who sell you your produce with a shy smile!

  7. This looks like such a fun market! It reminds me of my local market. I love to see what is available around my little city - we seem to leave it so often, sometimes I forget how much is right downtown!

  9. Wow, this is an amazing farmer's market. I could spend all day at ours and it doesn't have a pizza oven and massages. I could live at yours. Thanks for sharing, I think it's a great idea to play tourist in your hometown.

  10. The first time I ever went to a Farmer's Market was when I was visiting my sister in LA, and it was awesome! But it was nothing like the one in your town. Yours looks like it would be so much fun with all there is to do!
