2016 Holiday Gift Guide for Tween Boys

It may feel like the holiday season is still far away but - my Christmas Club
savings dropped into my checking account today and I am ready to shop!

Being a tween is rough. You are caught somewhere between childhood and adulthood. You hear both ‘you are old enough to know better’ and ‘you aren’t old enough yet’ on a regular basis. Shopping for them is difficult, too! You don’t want to get something to little kid-ish - yet they are still kids! Now I am in no way saying these things can only be for boys - I just only have boys. You can find some great ideas in here for tween girls, too!
(If you are one of my tween boys and you are reading this - NO you are not getting all of these things!)
This post contains affiliate links in each picture, which means I receive monetary compensation if you make a purchase using any of the below links. As always, my thoughts and opinions are my own.

My boys love their Nikes! They get a new pair when school starts but they are growing
so fast they need a new pair anyhow when Christmas comes around.

Every year a remote control car ends up on at least one of the boys' lists.

Combine Legos and Star Wars and what you have is a Christmas miracle in my home!

My tweens have been BUGGING me for a drone! It is the first thing on their letter to Santa this year!

And, of course, there are the video games. So. Many. Video games!

Speaking of video games - do your kids watch videos of OTHER kids playing video games? My boys decided they want to be the ones in the videos. They informed me this is what they need.

Do you ever outgrow Nerf? I don't think so.

My boys still love to come inside during the winter and have a nice hot cup of hot chocolate!
This 'more adult' version is their favorite!

One product can do it all?
My boys still hate to shower, but if your tween boys are like mine you know they need to get in there and come out smelling great! This product accomplishes this and reduces their shower time!
If you knew what percentage of my paycheck goes to feeding these rapidly growing monsters angels,
you would be appalled. Even still, the food in the cupboard is for everyone.  For some reason they LOVE getting their favorite snacks as gifts because those are all just for them!

My boys love mechanical pencils.
And this super-creepy game they play.

Both my boys are fascinated with science and technology. I think it is important to show them how both are applied out there in the 'real world'. If nothing else maybe this will get them away from some of the above video games easier when their time is up!

And of course, the fail-safe - GIFT CARDS!

My boys already have iTunes gift cards on their list.
You know those pre-teens love their iPods, iPads, and iPhones.
Giving them a little bit to spend on their favorite apps and games is much appreciated!

We have a Christmas Eve tradition in our family. The boys get a new set of PJ's - or as they have gotten older a new pair of Pajama pants. It is always nice Christmas Morning to have on a cuddly new pair! The sleepwear doesn't even have to be Christmas themed, especially for the older kids. You can put together a Christmas Eve kit with these cool holiday-themed personalized Cinch Sac's from Thirty-One! (Order by Dec 10th to guarantee Christmas delivery - don't forget some things for you, too!) Along with the sleepwear you can include a new book, and a cuddly pair of thick socks. They can also use these bags to help carry their gifts home if you are visiting relatives during the holiday season!
What does your pre-teen have on his wish list? Share below if you have a great idea to share!

BE SURE TO BOOKMARK THIS PAGE!

At the season approaches, I will be adding more great finds sure to please your tween!

  5. I like the idea of the Starbucks gift card! That way they aren't using any of Mom & Dad's money. It's a win win, right? Of course, Xbox games always work.
